Mission: Financial Education for Students
We are a non-profit organization helping students find ways to fund their own interests and wishlists. Our own financial education focused on saving money and living within our means–IMPORTANT lessons for sure! However, as we learned more about managing our finances, we started asking ourselves how. How can I afford that? And we started asking our kids that question when we have the opportunity to hear their wishlist of things and experiences they hope to have one day.
Our workshops and classes focus on not just financial education, but will also provide opportunities to learn business and life lessons along the way. Our programs aim to teach students to create spending money by selling what they or their family have laying around not getting used. By generating some spending money, our students learn how to think about money and get the opportunity to learn and nurture a healthy relationship with money–budgeting, taxes, savings and investing.
With over 10 years of selling our own outgrowns, gently used and collectable items, we found ourselves with top seller status in the online selling sites with an understanding of how easy it is. Leveraging the learnings, we started encouraging our own kids to sell their toys and outgrowns to earn spending money for their next purchase. We developed training workshops and classes designed to teach each kid to do it for themselves and their families.
